Scientific research to scientific communication
In medicine, the greatest challenge often isn’t generating evidence, it’s communicating it clearly without losing scientific accuracy. My work bridges that gap.
Hi, I’m Oliver
Most people come into scientific communications from writing. I came into it from science.
Before moving into medical and scientific communications, I spent more than a decade in biomedical research, including doctoral work in neuro-oncology.
That background established how I approach communication. I begin by examining the evidence: what it shows, what it does not show, why it matters, and what the intended audience needs to understand.
I now apply that perspective across communications for healthcare professionals, researchers, patients, commercial teams and other life science stakeholders; each with different questions, different priorities, and different ways of engaging with the same evidence.
My job is to make sure the science stays intact while the communication is tailored for the audience.

Medical, scientific, and commercial communications
From pipette
to pen
With more than a decade of experience across biomedical research and scientific communications, I bring both sides of science together: understanding the evidence and communicating it clearly.
A strong piece of scientific communication can help researchers interpret a finding, support a healthcare professional’s understanding, give a patient clearer information or help a commercial team communicate responsibly.
Moving into MedTech allowed me to apply my scientific foundation across medical and marketing communications, including product launches, regulatory communications, and scientific engagement.
The principle behind every project remains the same: the science comes first. Communication is built around the evidence, not the other way around.
Four principles behind every project
Accuracy first, always
Every scientific claim is grounded in evidence. I work from primary literature and study data wherever possible, so every statement can be supported, referenced, and defended.
Understand the audience
Different audiences bring different priorities, levels of knowledge and expectations to the same evidence. The communication is shaped around what each audience needs to understand without changing what the evidence supports.
Make clarity scientifically responsible
Precise and readable aren’t opposites. The best scientific communication does both. As a scientist myself, I understand how scientific audiences evaluate evidence and how they expect it to be communicated.
Written for review, not around it
Medical, legal, regulatory (MLR) and compliance requirements are built in from the first draft, not patched in as a second thought.
Furthermore, confidentiality is a given. Whether working under an NDA or with sensitive/unpublished data, your information is handled professionally and securely.
